What types of wood do you use in your handmade woodcrafts?
For our handmade woodcrafts, we use a variety of premium woods, carefully selected for their durability, beauty, and unique characteristics. The North American hardwoods we use include Cherry, Black Locust, Box Elder, Walnut, Mulberry, Sycamore, Maple, Beech, Ash, White Oak, Curly Maple, Ash Burl, Cherry Burl, and Spalted Dogwood. We also incorporate exotic hardwoods such as Jatoba, Bocote, Ipe, African Rosewood, Padauk, Sapele, and Amboyna Burl to create one-of-a-kind pieces with stunning grain patterns and rich color variations.
Where do you source the wood you use?
We source our wood from a variety of responsible places to ensure high-quality materials for our handmade pieces. For our exotic woods, we purchase from sustainable online vendors or local lumber stores that prioritize ethical sourcing. For local Northeastern American hardwoods, we occasionally collaborate with individuals and services that gather logs from trees that would otherwise be turned into mulch, allowing us to repurpose this beautiful wood into art and home pieces. We are committed to sustainability and always aim to use the finest materials for our craft.
Where are you located?
We are based in Monrovia, Maryland, within Frederick County. Our handmade woodcrafts are created right in our garage, and we frequently participate in local craft shows and events across Maryland, where we set up pop-up tents to showcase and sell our work.
